Mike Lyle joined WSHU Public Radio in early 2021 as a News Anchor, and was brought on full time to cover Connecticut news.

In addition to his work at WSHU, Mike is an anchor/reporter at New England Public Media, a journalist with the National Press Club, and a weekend/fill-in news anchor at WTIC News/Talk 1080.

Mike is currently Vice President of Broadcast at Southern New England Association of Black Journalists. He is a four-time recipient of the Connecticut AP Broadcasters Association award and a two-time recipient of the Connecticut Society of Professional Journalists Award.

Mike holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from the Cathy Hughes School of Communications at Howard University in Washington, D.C., and a Master's degree in Journalism from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He is also currently serving as an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac University.
