Business Manager

Position Summary:
Oversees office operations, records all income and expenses, and prepares financial reports and audit materials.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversight of daily budget compliance, including payment processing, vendor maintenance, p-card oversight, JE originator, and R/E reconciliation. Administrator role in SHU eBuy and regular interface with Colleague. Department liaison with Business Office. 
  • Prepares ad hoc reports for Development and financials for special programs such as: Grad News Fellows, LMA stations and SAP restricted funds accounts. Works with auditors to prepare financial statements and reports to granting agencies. Completes prep work for CPB grant. 
  • Lease and contract management.
  • Prepares and enters HR requisitions for processing through DayForce.
  • Sunday Baroque (nationally syndicated program) – contract processing, invoicing, and payment processing.
  • Office Management -Point person for office needs and staff concerns, maintains office records: organizational chart, contact list.
  • Administrative Assistant to General Manager – Running interference for administrative concentrated tasks.
  • Events Assistance – on an “as needed” basis. 
  • Other duties as assigned.


General Manager

Position Summary:
The WSHU General Manager is a full-time position that oversees all aspects of the operation of a University Licensee radio station housed at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. The General Manager is the “public face” of WSHU and provides leadership by administering the budget and finances, supervising staff, overseeing public relations, maintaining and enhancing stakeholder and community partnerships, fostering collaborations with other public radio stations, cultivating and stewarding station donors, and ensuring that legal and regulatory requirements are met. In addition, the GM is expected to move WSHU forward in all aspects of new media so that the organization can offer broadcast services to a wide variety of listeners through diverse broadcast media (online streaming, apps, podcasts, social media, website, and related technologies). The General Manager reports to the SVP Marketing & Communications and Chief of Staff at Sacred Heart University. This is a full-time benefitted position through Sacred Heart University, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2024.
