The Metropolitan Transportation Authority board approved a record $51.5 billion spending plan for 2020-2024.

It’s a 70% increase in capital spending over the MTA’s previous budget. Most of the money went to New York City’s transit system.

The plan will also fun Long Island Rail Road’s expansion to Grand Central Terminal and almost 10 addition miles of a third track to Hicksville.

Metro-North will see the addition of four new stations in the Bronx on its New Haven line.

The Capital Program Review Board is expected to make the final approval.

Bill began his radio journey on Long Island, followed by stops in Schenectady, Bridgeport, Boston and New York City. He’s glad to be back on the air in Fairfield County, where he has lived with his wife and two sons for more than 20 years.
