President-elect Joe Biden has picked Miguel Cardona, Connecticut's education commissioner, as U.S. Secretary of Education. Also, New York hospital screen for mutated coronavirus that has shutdown the U.K. this Christmas, and coastal birds are another victim of COVID-19. Governor Ned Lamont defends the state's decision to join the Transportation Climate Initiative — as not just another gas tax.
