A spike in coronavirus cases in Danbury has prompted Western Connecticut State University to temporarily move all classes online and bar all students from returning to campus for at least two weeks.

Nearly 900 students were expected to begin moving into dorms this past weekend before the restriction was announced on Saturday.

Classes will begin online on Wednesday as planned.

State health officials have issued a COVID-19 alert for Danbury due to a spike in cases.
