Connecticut gubernatorial candidates have criticized an electricity rate hike for 2027 that Eversource Energy, the state’s largest public utility company, has requested.

Connecticut’s largest utilities raised electricity rates this year, pushing costs near the top nationally. The hikes may spark debate, but may not sway the governor’s race.
