When composer Chad Seiter got an invitation to create a live concert of music from video games, he immediately thought how awesome it would be to shine the spotlight on music from independent games. The Game Theory Concert will be presented on October 5th at the Ford Amphitheater in Los Angeles.

Chad told me he had no trouble recruiting some of his game composer friends, including Austin Wintory, Grant Kirkhope, Lena Raine, Laura Shigihara and Jake Kaufman, all of whom are thrilled to have the Hollywood Studio Symphony Orchestra and outstanding soloists perform their music.

Each composer will have fifteen minutes on stage to talk about their music and why they chose the pieces they did. Chad says one of the things he's most looking forward to is the world premiere of his Arkhangel Symphony, drawn from his soundtrack for that game. He's also looking forward to collaborating with vocalist and composer Laura Intravia, who will be performing a song from the game.

The Game Theory Concert is a benefit for the Musicians at Play Foundation, which provides music education and mentorship to students in the Los Angeles area.
