On Long Island, officials have announced two more COVID-19 testing sites in Nassau and Suffolk to combat the surge in coronavirus cases.

In Nassau, Mount Sinai South Nassau hospital plans to open a permanent drive-thru COVID-19 rapid testing tent on December 7 at its Oceanside campus. The hospital will continue the testing at its original site until the new tent opens.

In collaboration with Suffolk County and the Town of Huntington, Northwell Health opened a testing site Monday in Greenlawn at its Dolan Family Health Center. Results at the Center will be available within one to three days.

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone said it is clear that we are now in a second wave of coronavirus cases and increasing the number of testing is critical. The positivity rate in Suffolk County is now reaching 5 percent.
