A Yale University professor will co-chair President-elect Joe Biden’s COVID-19 task force.

Dr. Marcella Nunez-Smith is an associate professor of medicine at Yale. She will now serve the country as one of three task force co-chairs.

Joining Nunez-Smith will be a former surgeon general Dr. Vivek Murthy and former FDA Commissioner Dr. David Kessler.

The announcement comes as cases continue to surge with over 126,000 new cases nationwide this weekend. That’s the highest number of new cases since the pandemic began.
