Connecticut lawmakers anticipate heated testimony on vaccines at a public hearing in Hartford Wednesday.
The General Assembly’s Public Health Committee is considering a bill that would eliminate religious exemptions from certain vaccines for public school students.
Hundreds of the bill’s opponents rallied outside the Capitol on the opening day of the session earlier this month. They say parents and guardians should make the decision whether to vaccinate their kids.
Democratic Governor Ned Lamont supports the bill. He called for a “thoughtful” vaccination program in his State of the State address.
