A new ad from Democratic U.S. presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg features a survivor of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

The ad features Mary Ann Jacob. She’s a former librarian at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Twenty children and six educators were killed at the school in Newtown, Connecticut, in 2012.

“The first thing you have to think about is taking care of the kids in your care … When the legislation in Congress failed, it made me wonder if anyone in Washington cared.”

The ad credits Bloomberg for mobilizing mayors and funding gun control advocacy groups after the shooting.

Bloomberg has spent about $250 million on advertising and announced his Connecticut campaign staff last week. The first in the nation Iowa caucus takes place Monday night.

Davis Dunavin loves telling stories, whether on the radio or around the campfire. He started in Missouri and ended up in Connecticut, which, he'd like to point out, is the same geographic trajectory taken by Mark Twain.
