Listening to a live orchestra perform music from your favorite video game can bring back great memories. Or, with the performance on June 13 by the National Video Game Orchestra of Wales, give you a sneak peak into music for a game that isn't even released yet!
Composer Tony Manfredonia says he's thrilled (and a little scared) to have a suite from his soundtrack to Kharon's Crypt premiered at the concert, and the founders of the NGVOW, conductor Carwyn Thomas and orchestrator Peter Brook, say part of the mission of the orchestra is to perform music from independent game developers, in addition to themes from classic and contemporary Triple A games.
The June 13 concert also features Peter's arrangments of music from Fallout 4, God of War, Zelda and Skyrim.
Starting an orchestra from scratch is a bigger project than either Carwyn or Peter imagined, but they've had an overwhelmingly positive response from musicians who want to be part of the orchestra, as well as people who attended their first concert last fall.

Tony is eager to hear what audiences think of his music for Kharon's Crypt, which he says is heavily influenced by the counterpoint of Bach.
