Governor Kathy Hochul’s budget proposal will allow New York’s four research university centers to hike tuition for in-state students by 30% over the next five years, which is concerning to students who are already tight on cash.

The Connecticut State Colleges and University System expect a shortfall of $220 million dollars over the next two years. The finance and infrastructure committee discussed possible budget cuts at a meeting earlier this week.
