Here's the latest on the coronavirus outbreak in the region:

Fairfield, Connecticut public school students told administrators at a recent town hall that the college’s mandate for them to keep their web cameras on during remote classes to be an 'invasion of privacy'.

The policy was added to ensure attendance. They say not all students have a comfortable home situation that they want to broadcast to classmates, and some have technical limitations.

The 7-day positive test rate in Connecticut is 5.05%, according to state data. On Long Island, the 7-day positive COVID-19 test rate is 3.48%. The rest of New York is at 3.17%.

At least 11 coronavirus cases have been reported in eight Long Island courts since last week's suspension of jury selections due to the spike in COVID-19.

The town of New Canaan, Connecticut blasted the Governor’s office for holding on to federal emergency relief that was approved for the town to cover COVID-19 expenses from March until the end of June. First Selectman Kevin Moynihan said he is growing impatient for his $400,000 reimbursement from the state.
