Southern Connecticut Gas To Resume No Contract House Call Program

Southern Connecticut Gas plans to resume house calls next month for residents who don’t have a contract with them with the onset of the heating season.

The company said it has stopped non-contract services on natural gas fueled furnaces in March in an effort to protect its employees from COVID-19.

Customers without a contract were advised to call in a plumber instead.

Southern Connecticut Gas is an AvanGrid child company that serves towns in Fairfield, New Haven, and Middlesex counties, as well as the cities of Bridgeport and New Haven.

A previous version of this story explained that Southern Connecticut Gas had ended no-contract services  amid the pandemic. Those services were temporarily suspended and will resume next month.
