U.S. Representative Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) of eastern Long Island will deliver a primetime speech Wednesday evening at the Republican National Convention to nominate President Trump to a second term.

Zeldin was on Trump’s legal defense team during his impeachment hearings earlier this year, and sits on the White House Task Force on Reopening the Economy amid the pandemic.

He is also a vertern of the Iraq War and lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserve.

The Republican National Convention starts today and will be held mostly remote because of the coronavirus pandemic.

The president will deliver his formal nomination acceptance speech Thursday evening from the White House lawn.
