The National Football League says the New York Jets had 10 false-positive COVID-19 tests over the weekend. The Jets had canceled practice Saturday night out of an abundance of caution.
The NFL said in the statement that several positive tests came from a New Jersey laboratory. That lab is now working to confirm or rule out those rapid COVID-19 tests.
Some staffers with the New York Giants also had some issues with presumptive positive tests.
The teams are three weeks out from their season-openers. Coaches say they are working with their testing partners in coordinating accurate daily testing and contact tracing before the regular season.
