PSEG Long Island Forfeits $10 Million For Poor Isaias Response

Mel Evans/Associated Press

New York regulators say PSEG Long Island will forfeit $10 million in incentives for its poor response to extended power outages after Tropical Storm Isaias.

Investigations are underway into how power companies in downstate New York coordinated emergency response and their failure to communicate accurate information to customers and businesses.

The state Legislature will also hold hearings Thursday into PSEG’s response.

Regulators have threatened to terminate PSEG’s contract with Long Island Power Authority.
