- In Connecticut, the latest report lists 23 deaths. New cases dropped to 314.
- In New York, deaths have fallen to just over 100 for the second day in a row. There were slightly more new cases, with 1,475 statewide, 170 on Long Island and 80 in Westchester County.
- Many Connecticut businesses will be allowed to open today, with restrictions. Masks must be worn, and work spaces spread apart. Offices can allow employees to return at up to 50% capacity. Those who can work from home are encouraged to keep doing so. Retail stores and malls, outdoor seating at restaurants, outdoor recreation, such as mini-golf, bike rentals and outdoor zoo and museum exhibits are cleared for opening today in Connecticut.
- Fast food giant Subway has cut jobs for the second time in three months. The company says it’s eliminating 150 positions companywide, with more than 100 of those at its world headquarters in Milford. The company released a statement that said the COVID-19 pandemic forced it to accelerate planned restructuring.
- Elective surgeries and outpatient medical care are now allowed in Nassau County. Suffolk County was cleared for elective surgeries over the weekend. Gov. Cuomo says Long Islanders who have delayed medical care because of the coronavirus pandemic can now get treatment. “Anyone who needs health service should get it. There's no reason not to go to the hospital, no reason not to go to the doctor's office, and many reasons why you should go.”
