Here’s the latest on the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak in the region:
Schools and nonessential businesses in New York will remain closed until at least May 15.
President Trump has appointed New York Congressman Lee Zeldin to the White House task force on reopening the economy.
New York has nearly 223,000 confirmed cases, with deaths over 12,200. Long Island has 52,000 cases. Westchester County has over 21,800.
Connecticut has over 15,880 cases—most are in Fairfield and New Haven Counties. 971 people have died.
Frontline health care workers in Connecticut and Massachusetts are eligible to receive up to $25,000 of life insurance at no cost through HealthBridge.
The special enrollment period for Connecticut’s health insurance marketplace, Access Health CT, ends Friday—call 855-365-2428 to enroll. Plans go into effect May 1.
