Here’s the latest on the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak in the region:
Governor Andrew Cuomo says all New Yorkers will be able to vote in the June 23 primary by absentee ballot.
New York will extend unemployment benefits an extra 13 weeks.
Connecticut says all legislative activity will be suspended until April 23.
New York has more than 149,300 confirmed cases statewide — with over 34,000 cases on Long Island. Westchester County exceeds 15,880 cases. New York City has over 77,960 cases. Nearly 6,270 people have died statewide.
Connecticut has over 8,780 confirmed cases — with over half in Fairfield County. About 326 people have died statewide.
CVS Health Corporation will open two large rapid response test sites in Stamford and New Haven, Connecticut. The company says the sites would be able to test as many a thousand people a day — with results in less than 15 minutes.
