2020 Census Forms Headed For Your Mailbox

Michelle R. Smith

The first round of materials for the 2020 U.S. Census are scheduled to be sent to residents next week.

Officials want to double down on hard-to-count communities, like low-income households, undocumented immigrants and transient workers, to get an accurate survey.

City centers in Connecticut, as well as Flanders, Brentwood, North Bellport and Huntington Station on Long Island, will be sent bilingual mailings online to participate.

A native Long Islander, J.D. is WSHU's managing editor. He also hosts the climate podcast Higher Ground. J.D. reports for public radio stations across the Northeast, is a journalism educator and proud SPJ member.
