$13 An Hour: New York Minimum Wage Rises

Long Island and Westchester workers will see minimum wages rise to $13 per hour before the end of the year.

It’s part of New York’s five-year process to phase in a $15 minimum wage by 2021.

The scheduled wage increase follows a report from the Division of the Budget. The report shows previous increases had positive impacts on labor statewide.

Officials credit wage increases for declines in New York’s unemployment rate and fewer minimum wage earners working part-time jobs.
