Scott Hapgood, right, a U.S. financial adviser charged with killing a hotel worker while on vacation in Anguilla, and his lawyer Juliya Arbisman, left, hold a media conference in New York in August.

The Caribbean island of Anguilla has labeled a Connecticut man as a fugitive and will issue an arrest warrant to have him face a manslaughter charge.

Scott Hapgood of Darien is accused of killing a hotel worker during a violent confrontation while he was on a family vacation in April. He has decided not to return to Anguilla to stand trial.

A spokesperson for the family says Hapgood has returned to the island three times for hearings, but says it’s become apparent there’s no chance of a fair trial.

It’s unclear if he will be extradited as required by international treaties.

Bill began his radio journey on Long Island, followed by stops in Schenectady, Bridgeport, Boston and New York City. He’s glad to be back on the air in Fairfield County, where he has lived with his wife and two sons for more than 20 years.
