Mike Salvatori And Skye Lewin's Nightmare-Inducing Soundtrack For 'Destiny 2: Shadowkeep'

bungie.net

Bungie's latest Desiny 2 expansion, Shadowkeep, brings Guardians back to the Moon, only to discover that it's plagued by terrifying living nightmares, and long-vanquished enemies that need to be conquered again. Composers Mike Salvatori and Skye Lewin told me that not only did they write some of the most terrifying music ever for Destiny, but they blended in subtle hints of sorrow and brash heroic moments as well.

Guardians are called back to the Moon to assist Eris Morne, one of the most tragic characters in Destiny's history, to face their fears and confront the darkness emenating from a mysterious derelict vessel known as the Pyramid below the Moon's surface.

Once again, Skye, Bungie's music director, and Mike assembled an incredible team of composers who all approached the themes from differing perspectives. Rotem Moav, Pieter Schlosser, Mike Sechrist and Josh Mosser all contributed material, using what Mike and Skye call the "Destiny Gravy," so the soundtrack is a cohesive whole.

The soundtrack is available through theBungie Store.
