Join an enthusiastic group of scientists and staff anytime between 7am and 7pm as we work to inventory the biological diversity of our pond, marsh stream, and surrounding areas. Help us better understand the local flora and fauna that are found in each habitat and in the process gain skills and knowledge that will lead to a deeper connection with the natural world.

A perennial favorite, The Carnival of the Animals is a humorous musical suite by Camille Saint-Saëns, which - through 14 short movements - mimics a variety of animals. This family-friendly concert will be performed on April 27th, 2025, by Orchestra New England, under the baton of James Sinclair, and will feature narration of Ogden Nash's witty verses by Jacqueline Hubbard, Executive Director of the Ivoryton Playhouse. The versatility of the orchestra and four-hands piano performance combined with the playfulness of the music and narration are sure to delight all ages.
Admission is free. All attendees MUST have a ticket. Reservations are highly recommended as seating is limited. Please reserve seats for young children, even if you anticipate they will sit on an adult’s lap.
Concert begins at 2:00 pm at Valley Regional High School in Deep River, CT; outer doors open at 1:30 pm; auditorium doors open at 1:45 pm. Accessible parking, entry and seating are available.

The Suzuki Music School of Westport will host the final concert of their 2024-2025 Pillow Concert series on Sunday, April 27th at 3:00pm in the Blake Recital Hall (246 Post Road East, Lower Level, Westport CT 06880). It will feature pianist Ann Schein.
The Pillow Concert Series features professional artists performing in an informal setting designed for the whole family. Children of all ages can bring a pillow and sit up close with the performers. Concerts are about 45 minutes long and suitable for children ages 4 and up.
