The Atelier at Flowerfield is once again offering students the opportunity to exhibit their artwork! This exhibition encourages the work of Middle and High School student artists in all visual arts (except photography/video, jewelry, or reproductions of work (i.e. Giclee’s/prints of artwork)). The exhibition will be held in The Atelier’s 2,000-square-foot gallery, which serves as both a professional studio space and an exhibition area.
Middle School and High School Student Artists may submit up to three (3) images of original artworks.
Prizes to be awarded:• First Place: Cash prize of $150• Second Place: Cash prize of $100• Third Place: Cash prize of $50
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:• Submissions must be received no later than January 16, 2026• Accepted works will be notified by January 23rd, 2026• Work should be received by January 30, 2026• Entry fee: $25 Per Student• Accepted works must be framed or gallery wrapped and ready to hang• Opening Reception is on Saturday, March 7th, 12 PM - 2 PM
The Atelier at Flowerfield seeks to encourage our future artists by offering classes and workshops with exceptional, professional instructors and exhibitions by students and instructors as well as local and visiting artists in Atelier Hall. Our educational offerings include free lectures, an extensive fine art library, and Scholarship and Fellowship programs for aspiring professional artists, and worthy students. Sustainable CT, the statewide organization that supports municipal sustainability initiatives, is now accepting applications for its 2026 Fellowship Program – this is a paid fellowship. Sustainable CT places highly qualified fellows across the state’s Councils of Governments (COGs) to help cities and towns become registered, certified, or recertified with Sustainable CT during the summer.Fellows are directly engaged in supporting cutting-edge sustainability initiatives and local government operations.The application deadline is February 9 at 5pm.• You must be enrolled in a post-secondary degree program or must have graduated in the most recent academic year (2025-2026).• You must be either enrolled in a Connecticut college or university or be a permanent resident of the state.Find out more about the Sustainable CT Fellowship Program at sustainablect.org.
In partnership with Huntington Learning Center, students in grades K-5 build and program robots, work in teams and learn STEM skills while having fun. Classes held at the YMCA in Westport. Do not have to be a YMCA member to register for these classes.

This hands-on workshop series invites writers of all levels to play and experiment with writing in order to hone their craft within a supportive community of peers. Participants will develop skills in character development/voice, description, dialogue, metaphorical language, and narrative arc by producing original work and sharing it together for constructive feedback. The course includes in-class writing prompts, guided discussions, and analysis of published mentor texts as both inspiration and models. Designed for writers of all genres, this six-week course creates a nurturing environment focused on revision and growth.
*Class is limited to 12 students & students must be able to attend ALL workshops.
