Connecticut's First Federal Jury Trial Since Pandemic Resumes Monday

The first federal jury trial in Connecticut since the pandemic began resumes Monday in U.S. District Court in Bridgeport.

The trial will be a test case — a brief three-day civil case with few participants, witnesses and jurors.

Federal judges decided to start with civil trials this month and criminal trials by November. State courts will resume both civil and criminal trials in November.

Both the federal and state court systems have been closed since March.
