In Plainedge, around 40 students are being told to quarantine after an informal football game this weekend where one player tested positive for the coronavirus.

School Superintendent Edward Salina Jr. said middle and high school students playing in the game were sharing food and water on the field and were not wearing masks.

The exposed students and their siblings have been directed to quarantine for 14 days and not attend school. They will also have to provide a negative COVID test before returning.
