Governor Ned Lamont has cautioned residents that Connecticut is not out of the woods when it comes to COVID-19 infections. The state currently has an infection rate of less than one percent of those tested. WSHU’s Ebong Udoma reports.
Lamont warns that the low infection rate could change dramatically in the fall as people begin to spend more time indoors because of the cold.
“I think November will be a period of risk. So my job is to make sure that we keep our discipline. Something Connecticut has really led the country in. And make sure we realize this is a really crucial 60 to 90 days coming up,” Lamont said.
Lamont spoke to an audience at Yale School of Public Health. He says he is concerned that pandemics such as COVID-19 will no longer be a once-in-a-hundred-year phenomenon. He said that’s why public health and safety career training should be a top priority for the state.
