Connecticut West Nile Cases Jump To 4 This Year

Connecticut health officials say three residents of Fairfield County have tested positive for West Nile virus.

That brings the total West Nile infections statewide to four people this year.

Two of the residents are from Danbury and Newtown. The third is from Greenwich and is a senior. All three are recovering.

The first human case of West Nile was announced in August in Waterbury.

Officials recommend residents cover exposed skin and use repellent if out after dark, and to remove still water where mosquitoes can breed.
