Republican legislators in New York say Governor Andrew Cuomo abused his power during the pandemic.

They are angry that Cuomo rolled back some Phase Four guidelines last week. Movie theaters, malls and fitness centers will need to wait to reopen.

New York Republican Chairman Nick Langworthy has called on state legislators to come back to Albany.

“They handed this governor unchecked dictatorial power and then they walked away from the capitol. They shirked their responsibilities. They’ve abandoned their constitutional duty as a coequal branch of government.”

Langworthy says that Cuomo’s powers during the pandemic were meant to be limited and temporary.
