A Connecticut union says it’s worried about the spread of COVID-19 within the state’s juvenile detention facilities.

The union that represents the state’s judicial branch workers says the centers have become a flashpoint for the spread of the virus.

Connecticut has juvenile detention centers in Bridgeport and Hartford. Most cases among judicial branch employees have been at the facilities.

The union says they want the judicial branch to take more proactive steps, like providing N95 masks to every staff member and letting employees know about any changes in protocols.

A spokesperson for the judicial branch says they’re providing masks and other PPE consistent with state and CDC guidelines. And they say they’re moving to limit the number of juveniles in the facilities.

Davis Dunavin loves telling stories, whether on the radio or around the campfire. He started in Missouri and ended up in Connecticut, which, he'd like to point out, is the same geographic trajectory taken by Mark Twain.
