China has donated a 1000 ventilators to help New Yorkers infected with covid-19. This as the state’s coronavirus death toll increased by another 630 people last night with most of that growth occurring outside New York City.

Governor Andrew Cuomo says China’s ventilator donation is landing today at JFK. He says the federal government is also sending an unspecified number of ventilators. And the state of Oregon is sending 140. For days, Cuomo has pleaded for other states to help. He thanked the people of Oregon and said New Yorkers would return the favor double-fold.

“They see the fire spreading. Stop the fire where it is before it gets to my house.”

Cuomo says New York is 4 to 8 days from virus’s peak and that it’s spreading east and west to Long Island and New Jersey.
