Nassau County will study the economic impact of the coronavirus on local businesses.

The county will work with Hofstra University to collect data and determine how much local businesses will lose because of the restrictions put in place to stem the spread of coronavirus.

County Executive Laura Curran says the data will show where they need the most help.

“We know that businesses have to do what they have to do right now, and that’s why it's so important that we gather all of this data from all of our different industries, from big to small, so that the federal government can help us. We have something specific to show them for the help that we need.”

Nassau County will also analyze how tax revenue and budgeting for governmental services will be affected by the pandemic.
