Suffolk County officials say older residents should avoid crowds to limit exposure to the novel coronavirus.

County Executive Steve Bellone said the virus is especially dangerous for people with compromised immune systems and the elderly.

“Whenever possible older residents should avoid large gatherings and be prepared with supplies at home,” Bellone said.
