A Bridgeport, Connecticut, priest is on leave after a state investigation found abuse related to a minor.

Bishop Frank Caggiano told parishioners the diocese got a letter in September saying parents were concerned by Jaime Marin Cardona’s conduct with a minor.

Caggiano said an investigation by the state Department of Children and Families backed up the allegations.

Caggiano said the priest has been ordered out of the parish and prohibited from engaging in public ministry.

Caggiano’s letter to parishioners didn’t specify the nature of the abuse.
