Connecticut Attorney General William Tong says he’s won’t allow Purdue Pharma to avoid paying billions of dollars in liability by filing for bankruptcy.

“I think this is a cynical ploy by Purdue Pharma and the Sacklers to shield themselves from liability and protect their wealth. And we are going to go after them.”

Tong says Connecticut will make sure Purdue Pharma and the Sackler family disclose their hidden fortune and full wealth.

He says billions of dollars need to be secured for opioid addiction science, treatment and recovery.
