Fairfield American Ends Little League World Series Run As #3 In The Nation

Christian Abraham / Hearst Connecticut Media

Fairfield American has ended its Little League World Series run as the number three team in the country. Fairfield America lost to Lufkin, Texas Thursday night 14 to 4 in a five-inning, mercy rule game.

Fairfield went 3 and 2 in the World Series, beating Jackson, N.J. twice and Walla Walla, Wash., while losing twice to Lufkin.

They had some dramatic moments during their run including a come-from-behind win against Walla Walla.

This was the third time Fairfield went to the World Series, and are the only US team to make three appearances since 2010.

The team’s manager Mike Randazzo says that the entire journey was surreal and Fairfield should be proud of how well they did.
