DeLauro, Slaughter sponsporing bill to strengthen USDA's ability to issue recalls

Democratic Congresswomen Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut and Louise Slaughter of New York are sponsoring legislation in the Republican-controlled House that would remove any doubt that the U.S. Department of Agriculture can issue recalls for unsafe meat, poultry, or egg products. Under current law, the USDA can only issue a recall if a product is considered to be "adulterated".
