Meet your new best friend at the Dog Adoption event on Broadway Island at The Shops at Yale on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 12–3 p.m. Spend the day connecting with adorable, adoptable dogs while learning about pet adoption and responsible animal care. Hosted in partnership with the Robin I. Kroogman New Haven Animal Shelter and North Shore Animal League America, this welcoming outdoor event offers the opportunity to meet rescue organizations and discover animals seeking loving homes.

Following her acclaimed 2024 company debut in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, soprano Asmik Grigorian returns to the Met as Tatiana, the lovestruck young heroine in this ardent operatic adaptation of Pushkin, which will be transmitted live from the Metropolitan Opera stage to cinemas worldwide on May 2. Baritone Igor Golovatenko is the urbane Onegin, who realizes his affection for her all too late. The Met’s evocative production, directed by Tony Award–winner Deborah Warner, “offers a beautifully detailed reading of … Tchaikovsky’s lyrical romance” (The Telegraph).

St. Joseph High School's Drama Club is proud to present The Music Man by Meredith Willson on April 30th, May 1st, and May 2nd at 7PM. The show focuses on con man Harold Hill, who poses as a boys' band organizer and leader. He sells band instruments and uniforms to naĂŻve Midwestern townsfolk, promising to train the members of the new band. Harold is no musician, however, and plans to skip town without giving any music lessons. Prim librarian and piano teacher Marian sees through him, but when Harold helps her younger brother overcome his lisp and social awkwardness, Marian begins to fall in love with him. He risks being caught to win her heart.
