He wasn't just a composer...he was a charmer! Reynaldo Hahn was playing the role of the flirt as he sat at the piano in a salon filled with swooning women, cigarette dangling from his lips, singing along with his own playing. Today on Afternoon Classics, one of the pieces he used to charm the ladies – “The Ball of Beatrice d’Este.”

For more than 20 years, Lauren has demystified classical music for her audiences by taking it off a dusty old pedestal and putting it into a modern context. She lives on Long Island with her husband and two punky schnauzers.
