A pilot program will give federal dollars to select Long Island homeowners in flood zones. The International Festival of Arts and Ideas kicks off in New Haven. Thousands of teenagers took over Long Beach as part of “senior skip day.” And Sandy Hook victims were honored at Newtown High School’s graduation this week.
