Stony Brook University received a $500 million endowment gift — one of the largest in the history of higher education. Two members of Newtown’s Board of Education have resigned amidst a book ban controversy. Today marks the 30th anniversary of Connecticut’s assault weapons ban. And an air quality advisory has been issued for Long Island and Connecticut.
