Hartford Healthcare opened a new mega vaccination clinic at Sacred Heart University's West Campus Atrium on March 10, 2021.

In Connecticut, Sacred Heart University has partnered with Hartford Healthcare to open a mass vaccination site at its West Campus facility.

The Sacred Heart site began to administer doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to all eligible residents in Connecticut.

Brenda Kupchick the Fairfield first selectwoman waited in line for her first vaccine. She said she is excited to be adding another site where Connecticut residents can receive their vaccination.

“This is really a tremendous addition to our community and to the whole state really so I’m excited to be here today,” Kupchick said.

Sacred Heart officials are hopeful when the state allows for student vaccinations in the future this site will be available for their students.

Dr. John Petillo is the university president.

“I think it’s a demonstration of our interest in being apart of a community and responsibility with, in this case, with the public health issue,” Petillo said.
