Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont previously appeared at a groundbreaking ceremony at Bradley International Airport.

Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut and Tampa International Airport in Florida will be the first to offer Covid-19 nasal swab testing sites.

Connecticut officials made the announcement on Tuesday. Connecticut requires travelers from more than 30 states with high virus infection rates to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. Or, travelers must present a negative test within 72 hours of travel to state health officials.

The Connecticut Airport Authority had been lobbying the governor for the test site. They said the 14-day quarantine was hurting tourism. The Hartford Courant reports Bradley International Airport had just over one-and-a half million travelers this year. That’s compared to nearly 7 million the year before.
