Sandy Hook Lawyer Accuses Remington Of Using Bankruptcy To Avoid Lawsuit

A lawyer for the families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims has accused gun maker Remington Arms of using its new bankruptcy case to try to wipe out the families’ lawsuit against the company.

The gun maker is in federal bankruptcy court this week in Alabama.

The families have sued Remington in Connecticut over how it marketed the rifle used in the 2012 school shooting that killed 20 children and six educators.

Their lawyer says their lawsuit is not included in the bankruptcy filing, and the company wants to rush an auction of its holdings. A lawyer for Remington denies the allegation.
