Beardsley Zoo Welcomes Visitors Again

Connecticut officials urge state residents to visit local attractions this 4th of July holiday weekend.

Lisa Clair with Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport says the zoo has been open to visitors since the beginning of June even though their indoor exhibits are closed.

“But we have lots of animals outside to see, our amur leopards, amur tigers, our red wolves, our Mexican and gray wolves, our spider monkeys. There’s lots to see and do here. We have plenty of picnic tables. You can order food from the café.”

Clair says visits to Beardsley Zoo have to be booked online. The wearing of face masks and social distancing is required. And only a thousand visitors are admitted each day.
