Here’s the latest on the Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak in this region:

A second health care worker in Connecticut has been diagnosed with the coronavirus. The New York resident is a doctor who made rounds at Bridgeport Hospital. On Friday night, Governor Ned Lamont says an employee who worked at both Danbury Hospital and and Norwalk Hospital who is a resident of New York State tested positive for the virus.  About 150 Connecticut residents are in self quarantine.

Meanwhile, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has declared a State of Emergency on Saturday.  This allows the state to immediately purchase supplies and hire personnel to deal with the outbreak.

89 people have now been diagnosed with the virus in New York, including 4 people in Nassau County.  Cuomo says 70 cases are in Westchester. At least 4000 people have been told to self-quarantine.

Cuomo also announced a hotline to report price gouging on household cleaning and sanitation supplies: 1-880-697-1220.
