The city of Bridgeport will put more police on the streets in response to recent violence. Those incidents include a shooting outside Bridgeport Superior Court on Monday.

“The city of Bridgeport will not tolerate brazen acts of violence like we saw yesterday. That is not what a civil society involves. If there’s some misconception about that, there is plenty of law enforcement that will answer that question clearly and emphatically,” Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim said.

Ganim says officers will be sent to some public housing projects and to the city’s East Side neighborhood.

State police will join Bridgeport police in some areas.

The city has also directed police to implement a late-night curfew for minors.
